1. Glad to see this and the 737 Max are both tagged with autonomous vehicles. Software is only as good as it’s sensors and in both cases the failure was down to software relying on a single sensor input.

    The problem is having foolproof sensors is going to be tough for many years. Because the sensors need to come from the road, other cars on the road, and the car.
    Eventually in theory the roads will be single lane, you wouldn’t need to change lanes. The entire system will change. So none of this really concerns me.

    Have a straight 1 road with barriers on each side, have every car going 100+ mph.. and you’re good.

    Once people start hacking sensors, they start going to jail for a long long time.
