Blogging… It Brings in More then Coffee Money…
Now that I’m making a real paycheck off of YouTube I can sometimes forget about my old faithful Blog EverymanIT.com. EverymanIT.com is basically a repository for my blog posts, and a place to embed the videos that I upload to YouTube. I have a nasty tendency to forget about it, and leave the site to neglect as I continuously push out video content, and babysit my Online Community http://www.ETCGCommunity.com.
As a technologist I am always looking for the next cool thing, and the next way to earn a few extra dollars. With this mindset it can be easy to overlook the earning potential from a standard old WordPress blog site.
After taking a look at my earnings the other day I have realized that this may mean I’m leaving a lot of money on the table…
I earn revenue from a few sites and from the YouTube Channel, but to my surprise EverymanIT.com itself is now bringing in over $1000 per month. This poor, neglected, half forgotten site is bringing in a substantial chunk of the my mortgage payment.
This all from simple AdSense ads that are embedded at the top of the pages (This does not include revenue from ads within the videos themselves). I guess it just goes to show that even in 2012 a person can still bring in more then a few bucks writing a niche blog.
For my fans you will notice that I am now working to publish 1-3 new blog posts a day… this is the reason…
