Purpose of Class:

This class introduces students to the components in a computer. A desktop computer is dissected and the individual parts are shown and their functions are explained. The information presented tries to show how all computing devices share the same components. Whether you have a server, a desktop computer, a laptop or an iPhone this class will explain the hardware that makes it work.

    1. The same parts used in a desktop computer are used in a laptop computer, netbook computer, iPhone and probably your next microwave oven

    To anyone that can help…

    I have been searching and searching the web for my fallowing question and cannot for the life of me find an answer that has helped. I would like to know how I find out what motherboard is in my laptop without actually opening it up. I downloaded Belarc Advisor to see if I could find the specs… it listed all sort of things except the motherboard. It did list my “main circuit board” as this; Board: Hewlett-Packard 166D 09.24 Serial Number: PBVEK011Z0EKWG. Thinking I had something to go off I searched the web and even searched Newegg.com. All have given me messages that this is not accurate data… PLEASE help me! :(

    I need advice or a how-to video on how ton repair my laptop which has crashed and will not open all it says when it comes on is the windows/config32/ is missing or corrupt and in order to,repair i need the cd-rom for windows which i dont have please help! Thank You

    … Basically you just need to reinstall Windows from the CD… If you simply have to have the disk to do this…
